I happened to call yesterday. They still don't have copies available.
The guy said it would be another couple of weeks.

Subject: Looking for a team

I'm looking for an adult women's or intermediate level co-ed team in the
Eastern Massachusetts area (preferably greater Boston). I played for 4
years when I was a kid and then for a year at Boston College when it was
still a club team with no money and crappy ice time. I've most recently
been playing pickup with the guys from the Boston Herald sports
department. That's a blast, but it takes place at 3AM and is rather
intermittent. If anyone can point me to a team/league that might have
room for one such as myself, I'd appreciate it. I used to play in the
girls league that had its games at Assabet valley. Thanks in advance.

Subject: Don't "Play it Again Sports."

Just wanted to air a problems I had with Play it Again Sports."

I called a local shop to ask them if they would take some specific used sports
gear -
A pair of Bauer 3000 SP shoulder pads (less than 1 year old) and a mountain
bike.

The clerk I spoke with (stupid me - I did not get his name) told me that the
best deal I could get would be to leave the gear for them to sell on
consignment - which would give me 60% of their selling price. I asked how
much they would sell the shoulder pads for - he told me about $70-75 (I paid
about $90 for them new.) I would pocket about $42. This seemed very
reasonable.

He also said that even though they don't normally sell used bikes, if it was
in good condition, they would try to sell it for me.

Yesterday, I schlepped my stuff over to their store, only for them to tell me
that 1) they will NOT even try to sell the bike for me and 2) that the selling
price for the shoulder pads would be about $40 - which would fetch me $24.

Needless to say, I was a bit upset. I told them that I called on Friday
morning, and told them everything that the clerk told me. They replied "That
must be the new guy. He doesn't know anything." I told them that the guy I
spoke with had to ask somebody else for the info, so he was not making it up.
They said they were firm on the selling price, and that there was no way they
would even try to sell the bike for me. For $24, it was not even worth the
trip out there!!

Needless to say, I took my toys and went home. Never to return there again.
