Hi Jenny !

Really, that isn't only a problem of or team, also our team in Duesseldorf
(germany) have some times the same problems. So we have the rink to practice
and train in the evenin' hours on sunday at 20:00 (8:00 pm) to 22:00 (10:00
pm). Before this time, the rink has Disco on ice and we can some times
started our practice with any minutes delay (before the folks leave the ice
!) Our ice-time make automatic something longer and after the time (22:00 or
10:00 pm) no other teams playin' or practice on ice, so i can say, we've no
problems with the ice-time and the payin' for this. But, we've a game on
sunday mornin' - and the -keeper of the key- :-)) (from the rink) has
oversleep ! So we started the game with delay and win, but we've lost the
game and points on the green table, after the protest from our opponent ! So
we can't do against that - it's our only problem of organisation ! Now,
that's sad, but - for the organisation of a game is only the hometeam
responsible. We can't do against this - it's act of god !

 Women's Hockey Questionnaire

Please answer the questions and send it back to me at email@hidden.

 Thank you for your assistance

Do you support women's hockey? YES

If so what team do you support? ECF Eisheiigen Duesseldorf e.V. (ECF the
Ice-Sanctify Duesseldorf) (GERMANY)

Do you believe that women should play hockey? Really - YES !! YES !!! YES
!!!!!

Women's hockey prohibits any checking do you agree with this? It's an
problem - you've read many opinions in the list and i can say - the problem
isn't the rule - it's the problem of the interpretation of referees in the
game !

Where do you live? Germany - NRW (North-Rhine-Westfalica) - Duesseldorf (for
all the friends in the U.S.A. and Canada - it's near Cologne !! :-)))

Are you Male or Female? Sorry Nicci, you've time for a little bit of fun
???? So, some times, i doesn't know :-))))
No, that's an joke - i'm male !

 Age:
 10-15
 16-20
 21-25
 26-30
 31-35
 36-40 O.K. you've found my wounded point :-)))
 40+

If you are female do you play hockey? No - i'm really male !!!

 Which Team?

How long have you been playing? I've played only one hockey-game, not an
women-game - i've played in a friendshipgame -goalie- mens vs. the B'team of
our Home-Women-Team !

If you had the chance to play women's hockey would you? As male ??? :-))

How do you feel about a professional woman's hockey league?

Would you watch women's hockey on TV? In germany - no TV-Channel send this -
and the press is no interested about this sport - shit happens - sorry !!!

Do you go and see live games? When i doesn't work - YES - so frequently i
can !

Do you believe that women can play in the NHL? YES - but, not all talented
player - just in this moment, i remember the words of -Martin Luther King- "I
HAVE A DREAM" !!!!!

What do you believe can be done to promote women's hockey? That's a really
complicated question :
I believe - at the first - all women-hockey-players have done a good job,
that is good publicity for this sport ! Also, the teams have done, to
advertising her team in local and regional press ! The medium Internet (WEB)
is also an good place to make public the sport and the own team ! I doesn't
known the situation in the U.S.A. and Canada, but in Germany - the
womens-hockey isn't interest for the masses - so we have a lot of work, to
make this sport public ! One, yes - only one News-Paper (of Hockey) writes
about the german womens-hockey, and some local News-Paper writin' about the
local hockey. The opinion in germany about hockey is - this sport is only for
men's - that's wrong - an bad mistake !!!!!
The german hockey-association contacted me, to write above the official
german womens-hockey in Internet (Web) - so they're see, it's an good place
to public this sport - and i started my private Homepage about this sport as
last september 96 and more of 2.000 peoples visit my page - it's an great
sucess, while the internet-connections are comparison with the U.S.A., still
very low !
Now, i'll be hope - we all find the right way - to present our sport (local,
regional - and all of the world), but the most of the time, we've with local
problems to fight - because many counties, lands, towns - have their own
regional sports-favourites !

with many greets

Subject: Help In Changing Girls Ages On Coed Teams
Message-ID:

I need help in finding out how I can be instrumental in changing the ages
of girls who play in coed leagues. I understand there is a congress this
June, where they vote on rules for USA Hockey.

I want the ages of girls who play on coed teams to be the same as it is for
the girls who play on girls teams. If it were, they would be able to play
down a league, which I think would be much better for them physically, as
well as help encourage other girls to start playing.

For example, my daughter is born in 1985. If she plays on a coed team, she
has to play as a Pee Wee, which would mean she has to begin checking. It
is hard for the girls, because the boys are beginning to grow and their
hormones are raging. But, if my daughter played on a girls team, she would
be playing as a Squirt. The Squirt Rep A team coach in our area really
wants her to play for him. She's a good agressive player, but more of the
Squirt Rep A team quality, than a Pee Wee player. If she has to play as a
Pee Wee, she will not be able to play on a Rep team and will have to play
house. She is very dedicated to her sport, and wants more than anything to
be able to play Rep.

I NEED help in finding out FAST, how I can help get this issue on the
ballot, and how I can lobby for the change.

If anyone can help me, please let me know asap.

Sincerely,

Tina Danzig

My daughter has been playing for four years and she will be a first
year Bantam this fall. She has been on the travel team for the past two
years. Since we live in Arizona, there are no local all girls teams, so for
the four years she has been one o 2-3 girls on the boys team.
One of the boy's dad is a doctor and he stated that most of the
injuries occur at the Bantam level because of the difference in size of the
kids. My daughter is currently almost 5'4". She was born in 1984.
I've always felt that if she wants to play, she had to take what
comes with the game. However, I don't want her to get hurt. She has come
up with her own solution. She is not a high scorer because if she sees
someone coming at her to check her, she passes the puck as soon as possible.
She also is a fast skater and most times can get out of the way quickly.
But she does get nailed also. She also has come up with an interesting way
to check. If she feels that she can't get them with a good check, she dives
for them and that knocks them down and they lose control of the puck.
Instead of banging into them, she falls on the ice instead, which may or may
not hurt less, but at least she has control over it.
I will I could say that we could get the rules changed, but I feel
that if women want to participate at the same level as men, we should not
ask for special privileges. We have a hard enough time being taken
seriously as it is. I think, however, that if we could get more girls to
participate in the sport, that there would be more all girls teams and then
we wouldn't have to worry about the checking at all. My daughter would
rather not have checking, but until she can find a female team to play on,
she's willing to put up with it.
Sorry for the long note. It's just my two cents worth. :)
