Hello!
I'm new to the list and I just wanted to say, "Hi!".

I loved your poem, but why did you write it about a guy? Judging from your
experiences and ambitions as a young woman in hockey, I would think you'd
write it about yourself. It's from your experience, right? Don't be shy!

Actually, I got the idea because I've watched my Wayne Gretzky video
and it mentions how he'd spent lots of time skating, and never wanted
to go in. I've never had a backyard rink, but I've always wanted one.
The only thing I know is that I love the ice.

Subject: Gender Equity - Brown's case

There is a hot discussion on Gender Equity / Title IX issue / Brown's case
on the Intellectual Capital magazine web sit at:

http://www.intellectualcapital.com/issues/97/0501/iced.asp

There is a space to write your comments... and it seems like there is a lot
of reverse logic going on about the issue, especially Brown's case. Check
it out.

>From Chronicle of Higher Education - (exerpt)
A glance at the May 1 edition of Intellectual
Capital.com: The real gender inequity in college
  sports

"If your daughter won't go out for basketball, my son cannot play
football." That's the flawed logic accepted by the U.S. Supreme
Court in the well-known gender-equity case against Brown
University, according to Pete du Pont, editor of this on-line
magazine and a former Republican Governor of Delaware.
