It is not necessary to have only one team. Several
universities have 3 levels of club teams, A, B and C. >>
Sorry, let me clarify my jumbled sentence above. I am aware of the levels
that club teams use and in the future we will use them. I should have
explained that a member would not get cut from the team all together, they
would get cut or a better word, moved, from A and place in the other "levels"
of the club team. Women do not get cut as explained above, from a club level
sport. WMU is hoping for a Varsity team in the future. In hopes for that to
occur, we have to have college students interested in playing, not just or
most of the community. Once we can proved there are a bunch of college women
interested in something more than a club team, we can move that much futher
to gaining a varsity level at WMU.
The two year policy, from what I was told, is from CCWHA. Please correct me
if I am wrong. If allowed by the CCWHA we would love to include community
interest in Women's Hockey at WMU. I hope I have cleared up any questions.

Yes, it is, and it is a very good rule, I think. Because nobody is cut from
our clubs, it is necessary to make more than one team. The only problem with
pulling people from the community is that they might take spots on the
competitive team. Also, with most of the teams from the CCWHA working towards
a final goal of Varsity status (with keeping a club team as well), it is
necessary to show the school there is interest and dedication from JUST within
the student body.

We are looking for a AAA Women's team from the B.C. area to play.
(anyone out there from the UBC Thunderbirds or Killarney Knights???)
We would like to set up a clean, fast-paced scrimmage with you to prepare
us for our Regionals in the U.S. We are a Midget "Rep" girls team that is
looking for a challenge. We've played women's AA teams and have been
successful and need to step up. We have ice here (Seattle) or are willing
to travel (and yes, we are USA Hockey sanctioned and will get a game
number).

I would like to get a womens hockey team started at my school.
(University of Minnesota Crookston). I know that legally in Minnesota
they have to give us fifty percent of the ice time here and there is
a definite interest. I would like some advice on how I should get one
started, so if anyone has any I am very interested in hearing any
ideas on how I should go about this. Thank you

I am looking for some help in trying to recruit women to play ice hockey
in Grand Forks, ND. So far, I have put signs up everywhere and go to
open skating sessions at the hockey arenas, walk up to women and
ask them if they want to play ice hockey. I am looking for
any suggestions to get some more women out on the ice. If you have

My name is Rosann Mando, Secretary of the CCWHA. We are hosting our league
championship tournament at Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, MI, and are putting
together a program that will be distributed to 8 collegiate club programs in
the midwest.
We have extended our advertising deadline until Thursday night, midnight. We
would like to invite any interested party to buy an ad in our program.
The prices are as follows:

Half Page $30
Quarter Page $20
Business Card $15
