Here is a message about the Women's College Ice Hockey Directory
that Richard Hungerford asked me to pass along to this list.
Another easy way to get to this file is to follow the link called
"directory for the US college teams" on my women's university
hockey web page.

Thanks to the generous support of Wayne Smith and the University of
Maine System, the Hockey-L archives contains the Women's College Ice
Hockey Directory.

I am currently adding email addresses to the directory, so if any
coaches/team contacts want their addresses added please let me know at:
email@hidden .

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

There are currently 24 college varsity teams listed and 25 clubs. In
addition there is information for 9 Canadian schools.

You can access the file via:
email: send to: email@hidden

Hi everyone,

It's that time of year again, as we hang up our ice skates and
get out our in-line skates! As one of the directors of the
Greater Toronto In-line Hockey League, I would like to bring our
upcoming tournament, The Challenge of the Americas, to your
attention.

The event is the first ever all-female rollerhockey tournament,
with the women's division being held on May 31 through June 2,
1996. (The men's division will be held June 7-9, 1996). It is a
winner take all tournament, with a cash prize of $2500 (Cdn) as
well as the "HYPER Cup".

Entry fee is $500 (Cdn) provided entries are received prior to
April 15, 1996; after this date entry fee is $750. All teams are
guaranteed 4 games. Teams rosters can have up to 12 players plus
2 goalkeepers. The average age of all players on a team must be
over 18. The women's division will be limited to 20 teams, and
registrations will be accepted on a first-come basis.

We have tried to make coming to Toronto easy and economical for
all teams - we have made special arrangements with the Radisson
Hotel, Tilden Car and Truck Rental, and Air Canada for special
discounts for tournament participants. As a special bonus, all
participants will be admitted to the Hockey Hall of Fame free of
charge on the Mondays following the tournament (June 3 and 10).

For more information, see the GTIHL homepage:

http://www.passport.ca/~gtihl

Or contact me (email@hidden) or the league office
(email@hidden). To speak with our league director, Alonzo
Bartley, call (416) 431-6233.

Let's get in-line!

Sue.

Attention all Women Hockey Players!!
There's a new women's team starting up in Crystal Lake, IL (a northwest
suburb of Chicago). It's a 'C' team called the Ice Cats and they are looking
for interested high school and adult women. I just joined and I've only been
skating since last November, so beginners ARE welcome. If interested contact
either Stacy at (815? or might be 708)683-1308 or Cat at 544-9693. Sorry
about not being sure about the area codes...they are changing rapidly here in
the Chicago area. If you have any problems, drop me a email, email@hidden,
with your name and phone number and I'll make sure it gets to the right
people.

Thanks,
Meg

I found out this morning some of the members of TEAM USA for the
PAC-RIM Tournament. NOTE: Spellings may be wrong! Cammi Granato,
Alana Blahoski, Sandra Whyte, Sue Merz, Shelly Looney, Lisa Brown,
Beth Beagan, A. J. Majesko. Goalies: Erin Whitten and a new goalie
possibly DeSoto? That's all I have...anyone else have something
more?
