WOMEN'S HOCKEY to Launch January '97

Reflecting the explosive growth of women's ice and roller hockey at the
elite, collegiate and recreational levels, HOCKEY PLAYER MAGAZINE
publishers Quint & Leslie Randle today announced the launch of a new
publication: WOMEN'S HOCKEY. The premiere issue is scheduled for a
January 1997 cover date and a 6-time publication cycle for year one.

The news tabloid is written for players, parents, administrators,
coaches and fans of women's ice and roller hockey throughout North
America.

"We will be organized with two editorial teams, one based in the US, the
other in Canada," said Leslie Randle. "This will truly be a publication
edited by women, exclusively for the women's game."

Women's hockey has been called the fastest growing segment of the
market. A growing number of school programs and sporting good
manufacturers are addressing the needs of the female player. WOMEN'S
HOCKEY will be the collective voice of the women's game.

Writers, photographers, sports information directors and others
interested in contributing to WOMEN'S HOCKEY can E-mail their contact
information to email@hidden. More information will be on the WWW at
www.hockeyplayer.com/wh beginning the week of July 8th. Phone:
517-347-1172.

HOCKEY PLAYER, the parent publication of WOMEN'S HOCKEY, is a leading US
monthly for recreational ice and roller hockey enthusiasts. Now in its
6th year, the Michigan-based company also produces a growing line of
instructional videos. A video for women is now in the works.
