I'm looking for girls or women in the Pittsburgh area to field a team
this summer. I'm thinking C level, men's league unless we get enough for
more than one team. Experience not necessary, having the attitude to come
have fun is...

I've played hockey with guys, where I was the only girl. I can't say it was
organized...it was usually pick-up, but I can't recall teking extra
punishment for being a girl. Then agai, I had very long and thick hair, so
I usually french-braided it and tucked it under my helmet. I don't know if
ZI did it to "blend in", but I just thought I'd put in my two cents! :) If
you're that concerned about your daughter, talk to her and see what she
thinnks. Ask her ifshe thinks opposing teams are rougher on her because of
her sex... it might help! :) Talk to y'all later!

My daughter has played on boys teams for almost 4 years. She is a 2nd
year Peewee and there are usually only about 2-3 girls per age group here
in Arizona. I have found that her teammates respect her and so do most
of the other team's players. But, I know of a few boys that will make it
a point to nail her because of her sex. However, I've also found that
there are some boys who are just jerks. They come to games wearing ties
and talking massive trash before they even make it to the ice.
You have to do what you think is best for each girl's circumstances. If
hiding hair is the way to go, don't ever feel bad. Hopefully some day it
won't be an issue.

I have a few items of hockey equipment that I would like to sell.
Everything has already been used but for only about 1/2 a season. Please
take a look at this list:

These are pretty large pants they have a lot of padding
Hockey Stick Easton aluminium blue Excellent $20 $28
This has only been used twice. It is a short stick about 46
inches high.
Neckgaurd Cooper Black Excellent $4 $8
STREET HOCKEY
Shin Gaurds Franklin Black/Blue Excellent $10 $15
May be suitable for ice hockey. Only worn about 3 times
Goalie Stick Mylec Black Excellent $15 $20
About 47 inches from heal to end of stick.
S. Hockey stick Franklin Black/Red o.k $5 $15
Used a lot. is wooden. Plastic blade. great for street hockey or
Practice. About 48 inches from the heel to top of stick.

- we have 3 teams this year...Our top team is in the Midwestern
Collegiate Women's Hockey Alliance, our other two teams are in the
Minnesota Girl's and Women's Hockey Assoc. in Mpls, Mn. in the "B" and "C"
leagues.
Just for anyone interested St. Cloud State Women's hockey has a

I'd like to get some games scheduled.
We have games on January 24 (at Union) and January 26 (at Smith). I'd
like to set one or two up for the Saturday in between. I'm thinking UMass
Amherst. Are you out there? Are there any fairly new college club teams
in that area that have some ice time that day?
Also, we still have one open time for a home game. It is Friday, February
14 at 7:00pm. I would prefer college club teams, but senior women's teams
are welcome.
