Hi! Happy Thanksgiving.
The Old York Road Raiders are looking for games with teams within a 50 mile
radius of Philadelphia. Were are a team of girls, mostly highschool age.
We are at the B-C level (depending on the day). We have some free ice time
and would be happy to host you, or would be happy to get out of
Philadelphia for a change. If you are interested, please contact me so we
can set something up.
Sincerely,
Debbie Minden

I have heard women who have played since they were kids say that at some
point, the boys get really rough, and you have to hide your hair to avoid
an extra measure of punishment for being a girl. Any thoughts on when this
happens? Today, my 10 year old squirt was playing a really physical team.
She is pretty physical too. Her team was taken aback by this, but she and
one other boy just got even more physical than usual in response. Both
kids were punched (game misconducts were called in both cases), and
another roughing call was made against a kid who went up against my
daughter. Is it time to hide the pony tail and blend in with the boys, or
is this just a case of an overly physical team? My kid is fine, I'm just
the overanxious mother.

I think that girls should be allowed to be on boys teams without getting
punished physically or being harassed.I don't think that they should have
to hide their ponytails or anything because of their gender.
