  I am very confused about the timing of the winter 
Olympics, or is it the Olympics in general?  There was Albertville 
(and Barcelona) in '92, so then there was Lillehammer(sp.?) in '94.  Ok, why 
is that?  

Its was decided by the IOC that after the games of 1992, the Winter and Summer 
games would be staggered to run two years apart rather than in the same year.  
This meant to start the stagger we had the 1994 Winter games two years after 
the 1992 Winter games.  

They now run four years apart as before, but we only have to wait two years 
until the next round of Olympic competition.  1996summer, 1998winter, 
2000summer, 2002winter etc etc.  

I think this was an excellent move.  Being a huge Olympic fan I now only have 
to wait two years between Olympic competitions.  

ps- I think the CBC did a fantastic job of Atlanta games coverage.  Way to go 
Brian Williams and Terri Liebel!!
