Hello to members of the list. I play on a Senior Women's Team in the San
Franicisco Bay Area and we are interested in going to 1 or 2 tournements
in the coming year. Please email me with any information on dates and
locations of senior women's events. I very much appreciate your help!

Ellen,
The Seattle Wings Women's Hockey Club will be hosting their Annual Spring
Tournament again this year. This will be the tournament's 5th year, and it
keeps getting bigger & better. We are still negotiating with two area rinks
for the exact time, but we hope to once again play for the three days of
Easter weekend.

Past tournaments have included teams from Alaska, Alberta, British
Columbia, California (including yours, the Valkyries), Colorado, Minnesota,
Idaho, Oregon, & Washington.

The tournament is open to 18 - 24 women's teams (playing at C.A.H.A. "AA"
level).
Teams must be registered & insured with USAHockey, or C.A.H.A. (or whatever
their countries' Ice Hockey governing body.) The Tournament is divided into
two divisions, Tier I & II, and each division ends in a playoff, & final (&
trophy.) All teams are guaranteed at least three games (or more if we can
secure a second rink) plus playoffs if successful. The weekend provides
much fun beyond the hockey, with lots to do and see in the Seattle Area.

When final details are worked out, hopefully within thirty days, I will
post them to the list, and rec.sports.hockey.

The Year 1996 marks a major step forward for female hockey in British
Columbia. March 31st to April 6th we will see the top female players from
China, Japan, Canada, and the U.S.A. compete in the 3rd Pacific Rim Women's
Ice Hockey Championships. This is a pre-Olympic event that will provide
B.C. the opportunity to see future participants at the 1998 Winter olympics
in Nagano, Japan.

Your help is needed on the Provincial Host Commitee.

No offer of help is too small. Assistance is required in the areas of
promotion, security, ticket and souvenir sales, transportation just to name
a few.

This is your chance to host some of the best female players in the world
and show the B.C. hospitality to the three time defending world champions,
our women's national team.

If you are interested please call Becki Bookham @ (604) 574-7248 and add
your name to the list of supporters and volunteers.

Doing her part by spreading the word...
