Having just returned from goalie camp in Toronto, I was also visiting
various stores attempting to buy players kit for my girlfriend.

Anyway, there are some major, obvious, differences in the body shapes
of the two sexes, and whereas I found a pair of Jofa shoulder pads for
women, I had great trouble trying to explain that women's hips can be
quite alot larger than their waist size. The outcome being that I ended
up buying pants which were of a certain model (CCM i think), which were
able to expand in the right places (ie they didn't have awkward bits of
plastic).

The final solution seems to work, but I thought I'd ask if any of you
had had similar problems when buying kit - I figured the initial
problems were because the UK is a relative hockey backwater, but to
come across similar troubles in Canada surprised me.
