Please excuse this ruthlessly selfish posting.
I'm visiting the Bay Area on a business trip next week (Jan. 6-13), far
away from my home in rainy Vancouver, Canada. In the interests of keeping
sharp and broadening my horizons I thought I'd try to get in contact with
somebody around San Francisco and see if I can get in a couple of evening
or early morning pickup games.
I don't know the area well, and I have no transportation apart from
expensive cab rides, so essentially I'm asking if someone wants to meet me
at my hotel near Union Square and ride out to the rink together. This
might be worth a healthy lunch for the generous player.
I'm a 6'4" 24-year-old goaltender who went through several years of minor
hockey and now play in Vancouver's WCHL. I practiced with members of the
Canucks during the big lockout and I still play regularly every winter with
current and former members of RollerHockey's Vancouver VooDoo. I'm just
looking for somebody who can help me break a sweat and pull a sweet move or
two. Intermediate play or better would probably suit me just fine.
If you are interested or know anyone who might be, let me know and I'll
pack the gear onto the plane. If not, maybe I'll see you at a sharks game
(chomp).
